People who portray themselves as modern Deists take the position that they possess a truth that believers in traditional religion fail to understand -- i.e., that truth can be realized strictly by the use of Reason. Yet, they have no answer when confronted with the vast differences exhibited in the reasoning among intelligent people as explored in the subheading Do Atheists Prove The Deists In Error? Which means that unless the Deists can begin to explain the great variation in perception and comprehension that exists across the spectrum of those who rely upon Reason, they will remain intellectually irrelevant. Further, there are some very intelligent minds that function within the confines of what the Deists portray as traditional revealed religion -- and the fact that they see the world differently than the Deist believer or the Atheist unbeliever, only confirms the great differences and variations that exist across the spectrum of men of Reason and Intellect. Not to understand why intelligent men of Reason perceive the world very differently -- and oft times in reverse of each other -- indicates the existence of a great void in the person's use of reasoning, that the alleged use of reason itself becomes an obstacle to achieving an enlightened understanding. God is the most Intelligent and Rational Force in all of Creation -- that there is a reason and a cause for all things, means that until one comes to understand why men of Reason perceive the world differently, then the use of Reason alone cannot be set forth as a viable solution to traditional faith-based religion.
While the Deists openly claim extraordinary thinkers such as Einstein as their own (see Einstein's Belief In God), they ignore conclusions of his superior reasoning skills. Shortly after his 50th birthday, Einstein gave an interview during which someone asked him, "Do you believe in God?" Einstein responded, "I'm not an atheist. I don't think I can call myself a pantheist. The problem involved is too vast for our limited minds. We are in the position of a little child entering a huge library filled with books in many languages. The child knows someone must have written those books. It does not know how. It does not understand the languages in which they are written. The child dimly suspects a mysterious order in the arrangement of the books but doesn't know what it is. That, it seems to me, is the attitude of even the most intelligent human being toward God. We see the universe marvelously arranged and obeying laws but only dimly understand these laws".
What is the solution to the dilemma raised by Einstein? It is not until we begin to resolve the riddle of why the biblical authors condemned all sects based upon "human opinion" and organic reasoning (see The Spiritual Diaspora), that the answer to the dilemma begins to emerge and bestow clarity on a reality that has immersed mankind in a sea of intellectual conflict and absolute confusion. How does man overcome what Einstein portrays as an intellectual dilemma that "...is too vast for our limited minds?" Does it matter that we do "...not understand the languages in which the [scriptures] are written?" And while the Deists proclaim that they alone possess the solution to the dilemma, men of Reason recognize their intellectual impotence as demonstrated by their irrelevance of not being able to even begin to offer an explanation with respect to offering a reasonable solution to the problems raised by Einstein and the Conflict of Reason (see Do Atheists Prove The Deists In Error? ). While the Deists claim to recognize the pervasiveness of The Laws of Nature And Nature's God, Einstein is correct in his assertion that mankind dwells in the abyss of confusion because he "...sees the universe marvelously arranged and obeying laws but only dimly understand these laws". In exploration of the conceptional positions raised by Einstein, the time has arrived for men of Reason to move beyond the dilemma of empty rhetoric that offers no real tangible answers -- and therefore I offer my below reply to John Linddell who I quote in the opening of this article, and runs the Christian Deism ministry and web sites:
In the pre-Nicene Church (325AD) there existed a body of mature Christians who could easily explain all spiritual concepts presented in the Gospel accounts. These early Christians never relied upon (blind) faith, because they possessed sure Spiritual Knowledge. This enlightened core of Spiritual Christians understood that God is the most Rational and Intelligent Force in all of Creation -- that there is a reason, a causal factor, and even a higher purpose for all events that transpire in this world -- and these Spiritually Mature Christians knew and comprehended all important reasons for every concept set forth in the Gospel teachings. But this enlightened intellect of the core body of Spiritual Christians presented a serious threat to the political leaders, and they were hunted down as heretics and murdered.
In the above article I portray the faith-based believers as a type of mule -- a body of believers who are necessary to preserve allegorical scriptures that contain a body of essential truths which if they were able to read literally, they would burn the scriptures as the work of the devil. But the authors of the scriptures who are obligated to both preserve and conceal this essential body of spiritual knowledge that is beyond the comprehension of the faith-based believers, compose the sacred writings so that those who possess the Key Of Knowledge will be able to retrieve this body of knowledge declared heresy by the pseudo-spiritual leaders of the Church, in order to make this body of spiritual knowledge available to the few who are able to use it.
Scriptures Written By Mystics Who Were Hunted Down As Heretics: A few facts to consider is that the scriptures were written by Mystics who (1) possessed a Knowledge that the biblical authors portrayed as incomprehensible to the congregation of believers (see Mystery Of The Gospel) -- (2) whose higher spiritual vision of what they portrayed as Essential Truths, was in fact outlawed by the later Roman Church as heresy. (3) Which threat of death forced the biblical authors to use a special CODE which they portrayed as the Key of Knowledge -- (4) which CODE permitted them to preserve and conceal their Spiritual Truths from the eyes and understanding of the ordinary reader and believer whose Paradigm of Thinking and Mind is totally earth-bound. And, it must be noted, that if the vast majority of Jews could perceive the the inner meaning of the Torah -- that if the Fundamentalists Christians could perceive the inner meaning of the Gospels -- and if believers, critics and supposed experts alike who only see the letter of the written word, could even for a moment perceive the true inner meaning of the very scriptures they promote or question, they would all equally condemn and reject the Great Truths that were preserved beneath the cloak of the allegorical text which Paul portrayed as "the letter that killeth" -- labeling the meaning as diabolical heresy. Why? Because the condition of their mind is carnal and bound by the thinking of this world. Moreover, because they don't at all understand how to apply what Jesus portrayed as the Key of Knowledge to the scriptures and unlock the true inner spiritual meaning -- and neither are they even prepared to apply the Key of Knowledge to unlock the mysteries of life itself -- they continue to promote what they outwardly condemn and reject as heresy.
Therefore, when confronting the true reality of the scriptures one must first ask themselves: Why would the authors of the scriptures openly write about mysteries that would be incomprehensible to the people? Mysteries that would invoke the wrath of their religious and secular leaders? To the degree that throughout most of history they have been hunted down, tortured, perhaps burnt at the stake, and murdered in a most painful manner? And what is the substance of this body of knowledge that "revealed" religion has relentlessly sought to suppress and destroy. It is the application of the Law of Nature and Nature's God as they apply to the Forces and Laws of the seekers own Cosmology of Mind that enlightens their Reason and Intellect to the Higher Reality of all the Mysteries of the Soul and Creation -- and thus, overcoming the dilemma noted by Einstein with respect to carnal man's enigma where he "...sees the universe marvelously arranged and obeying laws but only dimly understand these laws".
